noted. is a note-taking service. This page explains, in plain language, what information we handle, why, and the choices you have.
What we store
Your account: your email address, the name and photo you choose, and your language and theme preferences. Your content: the notes, tasks, projects, whiteboards, forms, comments and files you create. Basic usage records: the days on which your account was active, your approximate country (derived from your connection, without storing your IP address), and crash reports that contain an error message but never the content of your notes.
How we use it
We use your information to provide the service: to show you your notes on your devices, to sync them, to let you share them, and to keep the service secure and reliable. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence.
Who can see your notes
Only you, until you decide otherwise. When you invite someone or create a sharing link, those people can see that note. You can remove access at any time. Access rules are enforced in the database itself, and our staff tools do not show the content of notes.
What stays on your device
To work offline, noted. keeps a copy of your notes in your browser's storage on each device you use. Signing out on a shared computer is recommended. Images are compressed on your device before upload, which also removes hidden details such as the location where a photo was taken.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell personal data. We rely on infrastructure providers to host the database and files; they process data only on our behalf. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed for the service to work: one that keeps you signed in and one that remembers your language. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights and choices
You can download a complete copy of your data from Settings → Your data, correct your profile at any time, and permanently delete your account and everything in it from Settings → Account and security. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR and KVKK give you further rights, including to object to processing and to complain to your data protection authority.
Retention and changes
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Items in the trash are removed after 30 days, and deleting your account erases your content. If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will announce it inside the app before the change takes effect.
